Hey you! We are MAJOR BUENO and this year we have created one game for each month, inspired by 1GAM, 10 titles so far (we'll make 11 soon :) ). As December draws near, we are finishing up this series and we want to do this with a KA-PLOW-BOOM-Sound!
You can play our games here at our website.
Our last game is going to be a huge party and we invite the whole world to join in. It’s gonna be a big online celebration in which everybody can contribute drawings that will result in the creation of a collaborative game.
Together we will have a great party to create a great party together!
From now until November 30, you can upload your art and we will assemble it to create our final December game. You will be able to hang with or even play your character in our twelth game! Isn’t that rad?
Share and follow everything about the party through the hashtag #PARTYBUENO on Facebook and Twitter. We will be creating the game live during November 27 and December 1st at the Spielsalon in Kassel, Germany. If you happen to be in the area, you can come around and see us work on the game.
Pick your favourite tool for creating art and draw a character that will be a guest to the party. Make sure it suits the technical stats:
- Image size of 150x200 pixels.
- Transparent background.
- The character needs to be fully visible.
- It should be saved as a .png file.
- Then just scroll down and upload your file! That’s as easy as it gets!
- If you want to contribute different assets than art, email us at party[at]majorbueno.com
Party Bueno is so hip, it convinced a couple of famous people to join the crowd! These guys here will draw at least one character for the party:
- Pendleton Ward - The creator of Adventure Time
- Nathan "Bagel" Stapley - The Lead Artist of Double Fines "Broken Age"
- Scott Campbell - The creator of "Great Showdowns"
- David Hellman - The lead artist of Indie-Hit "Braid"
- Graham Annable - Creator and Artist of the "Grickle" cartoons
- Joscha Sauer - Creator of the german comic "Nicht Lustig"
- ... and maybe many more ...
Sorry the upload for is closed. Over 700 members joined our party! The Game
will be released on this side in a few hours. Stay tune to play the game.
Q: Help! My file won’t upload!
A: Have you checked the following? Resolution of 150x200, .png file and transparent background? Also make sure your filename doesn’t feature umlauts or special characters. Did you check the box next to the upload panel? Still troubled? Email us at email@example.com .
Q: I don't have Photoshop, what other software can I use to make a character?
A: GIMP is a mighty picture-editing-tool for Windows, Linux and MacOS, and it's free! Even MS Paint will do.
Q: I don’t know how to digitally draw on the computer!
A: Don’t worry! Here are a few instructional videos on how to draw and save your files with some of the most common programs:
- Adobe Photoshop: tutorial here
- Adobe Flash: tutorial here
- GIMP: tutorial here
- MS Paint: tutorial here
Q: Does the party have a theme the characters should fit in?
A: No! Everybody is welcome in the style he/she likes. However, we do have daily changing keywords for inspiration, if you want to get your creativity going.
Q: Can I draw literally anything?
A: Yes! Just keep the content appropriate. No racism or violence or pornographic stuff. Be cool.
Q: Can I animate my character?
A: All the characters will be automatically animated to be dancing at the party, so there is no need for you to spend extra time on animating.
Q: Can I contribute non-art assets?
A: If you plan to create other assets than graphics for the game, make sure to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us what you’re up to.
Q: What platform will the game be on?
A: Like all our other games from the OneGameAMonth series, this one will also be a flashgame that can be played in the webbrowser.
Q: Does hanging out with the characters in the game mean it’s multiplayer?
A: No, unfortunately, the game will be all singleplayer, but the collaborative spirit is totes there through all of your characters. <3
Q: What is the Spielsalon Kassel?
A: It’s a festival for indiegames located in Kassel, Germany that will take place from November 27 to December 1. We will be there live, creating the game with the assets you guys send us. If you are around the Kassel area, make sure to stop by at our booth and say “Shwoobidoobabubblebreeze”.
Q: Wait a minute... One game each month? Where is the game for november?
A: Yes, we still have to create game 11! We don't know when, but shirley before we begin the production of PartyBueno.
Q: Do you have a Facebook and/or Twitter-page?
Q: I have a question that is not in this useless FAQ!
A: Sorry about that! Send us an email to help[at]majorbueno.com and we’ll do our best to sort it out!
